A steel stair post bears upon a reinforced concrete foundation pad utilizing a slip connection with a minimum two feet six inches square footing. Three number five reinforcing bars at five feet zero inches length spaced at twelve inches on center are placed at each stringer alongside three number five bars at two feet zero inches length. Six continuous number five reinforcing bars maintain a three inch clearance within the one foot zero inch thick concrete pad. The assembly accommodates stair and connection design by a delegated engineer while coordinating post and stringer locations.
