A hollow structural section hanger connects to a supporting steel beam sized per plan. The connection utilizes a three-eighths-inch thick knife plate welded to the steel beam with quarter-inch fillet welds. The hanger is slotted to fit over the knife plate and secured with typical three-quarter-inch diameter machine bolts.
