A supported steel beam frames into a supporting steel beam utilizing a seated connection configuration. A plate sized to the beam flange thickness by the beam flange width with a slot for the beam web acts as the seat, supported by three-eighth-inch stiffener plates on both sides. Three-eighth-inch stiffener plates are centered at the web of the supported beam. Seven-eighth-inch diameter A325-N bolts are installed on beam gauges, with one near-side and one far-side. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size are applied to three sides typically.
