A wide-flange steel column bears on a concrete foundation with anchor bolts and a setting pad as required. A buckling-restrained brace connects to a gusset plate welded to the column assembly, secured with multiple bolts through a bolted gusset connection. The concrete foundation includes horizontal and vertical reinforcing steel bars embedded around the column base.
