A structural steel bottom flange brace spans between wide-flange beams using angle sections sized according to the unbraced length. Angle profiles include L3x3x1/4 for lengths up to six feet, L4x4x3/8 for lengths up to ten feet, and L5x5x1/2 for lengths up to fourteen feet. Each end of the brace connects with two three-quarter-inch diameter bolts through a three-eighths-inch thick gusset plate welded to the beam web and bottom flange. The gusset plate is attached using quarter-inch fillet welds with two-inch legs.
