An HSS8x8x3/8 divider beam frames into vertical hollow structural section posts with steel angles welded on three sides with a quarter-inch fillet weld. The upper connection uses an L5x3-1/2x1/2 angle six inches long on each side, secured with three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A307 bolts hand-tightened in vertical slotted holes measuring thirteen-sixteenths by one-and-seven-eighths inches to allow movement. The lower connection uses an L3-1/2x3-1/2x1/2 angle six inches long on each side with matching three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A307 hand-tightened bolts. Reference levels sit at Level 1 at eighty feet nine inches and the top of the bridge plinth at eighty-one feet three inches.
