An angled hollow structural section pier spans between horizontal hollow structural section supports attached at the slab edge, located one foot five and one-half inches from the grid line. Complete joint penetration welds secure the horizontal and vertical hollow structural section supports typical for the full height of the angled pier. An eight-inch cold-formed steel stud wall runs alongside the assembly, anchored by powder-actuated fasteners spaced at six inches on center typical at the horizontal hollow structural section supports. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths inch size connect the members with typical details shown in the accompanying section view.
