A CoreBrace buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel column and steel beam through a gusset plate sized by thickness tg. Stiffener plates are welded to the steel column and the steel beam on the near side and far side as required by the brace design. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the brace flanges. A shear tab connects the steel beam web to the steel column flange.
