A steel core with thickness tsc is housed within a casing of height HC and length LLC, capped at each end with a casing cap. A lug plate is connected to the steel core and extends outward to meet a gusset plate with an edge defined by LLg. The lug plate is secured to the gusset plate using typical bolts with diameters dhg at the gusset and ds at the lug. Welds with sizes DwL and DwLg join the assembly components together.
