A structural steel beam frames into the web of a column using a bolted connection plate. Type 1 plates attach to the supported beam web with three bolt rows specified per engineering notes. Type 2 stiffener plates weld horizontally to the column web and flanges with fillet welds applied on three sides typically. Fireproofing is applied externally where required by design drawings.
