A heavy steel moment connection ties W24 and W30 wide-flange beams to a column. Top and bottom flange plates designated as PL1 connect the beam flanges to the assembly utilizing two rows of ten 1-inch diameter ASTM A490-SC bolts with standard holes in the beams and oversized holes in the plates. Five-eighths-inch fillet welds secure the connection components as indicated by standard weld symbols. Additional connection information is referenced on sheet S-605.
