A hollow structural section member connects to a concrete wall using an embedded plate assembly. The connection features a half-inch thick plate measuring one foot eight inches long, anchored with six half-inch diameter welded studs. A complete joint penetration weld secures the structural steel framing to the embedded plate assembly. Typical fillet welds sized at five-sixteenths of an inch provide additional connection reinforcement. Detailed plan and section views specify the exact dimensional layout and edge distances for the embedded components.
