A C5x6.7 channel vertical ladder rail with 3/4-inch diameter rod rungs is anchored to a wall assembly using a one-quarter-inch bent plate clip. The clip connects to a 4x wood blocking member recessed behind 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board and wall studs per plan, secured with one 1/2-inch diameter by 3-1/2-inch long lag bolt. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld connects the clip to the ladder rail.
