A buckling-restrained brace frames into a column flange with braces positioned below the beam. A cap plate is welded to the column web and flanges using complete joint penetration welds. Continuity plates are provided typically at the column web align with the beam flanges. A beam stub per the structural drawings extends from the column, while the buckling-restrained brace connects per the elevations.
