Reinforcing bars are cut at pipe penetrations with additional lapping bars added to match structural requirements. Tension lap splices are used alongside fifteen-millimeter bottom bars spaced at four hundred millimeters or one foot four inches. A minimum of seventy-five millimeters or three inches of concrete cover is maintained. Bars are hooked where the footing cannot accommodate straight bar embedment.
