A structural steel column bears on a base plate set over non-shrink grout and anchored to a concrete foundation with anchor rods. Gusset plates attach to the column web and flanges to receive buckling-restrained braces, with stiffener plates provided as required by the manufacturer. Double angle drag members run continuously past each side of the gusset plate and connect to the column. Three-quarter-inch diameter by four-and-a-half-inch long headed welded studs are spaced equally on each side of the connection assembly.
