A metal stud connects to an eighteen-gauge slip track with a two-inch leg using number ten self-drilling screws with wafer heads on each side of the stud. One-inch length vertical slotted holes are provided at each side of the track leg, centered on the screw with a typical one-eighth-inch clearance.
