An unreinforced opening through a metal deck with concrete fill accommodates a pipe penetration with a maximum diameter of six inches. Cut no more than one web at each hole, and provide shoring where an opening cuts a deck web. If openings are closer or larger than shown, reinforce the deck per other details.
