An existing concrete shear wall receives a concrete shear wall overlay extending to Level 2. The existing concrete slab bears at the level 2 elevation adjacent to the vertical wall elements. Reinforcing dowels tie the overlay into the existing concrete shear wall. An intermediate structural steel beam frames into the assembly.
