Trench excavation slopes are established parallel to footings maintaining a two-to-one slope profile. The contractor is responsible for shoring, sheathing, or otherwise maintaining the sides of the excavation from cave-ins until all backfill is completed per specifications. The bottom of the trench excavation shall not extend below the indicated line, and backfill must be installed in accordance with the soils report.
