A concrete slab over a metal floor deck bears adjacent to a structural steel column flange with a supporting steel beam connection. The steel beam frames into the column flange using a bolted shear tab connection. A diagonal kickers or angle brace is welded to the column with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld typical. The slab edge detail accommodates the structural steel framing components while maintaining the concrete floor boundary.
