A perimeter steel channel designated as AESS level C2, P2 supports BR-2 brick veneer over a cavity containing cavity mortar control and sheet metal flashing. Weeps are positioned at one foot six inches on center above the channel. A box stud header and metal clips tie the backup assembly to the structural framing. Additional sheet metal flashing and sealant with weeps spaced sixteen inches on center occur at the deflection joint reference located at the lower boundary.
