A wide flange steel column is welded to a base plate of thickness t over non-shrink grout, secured by four headed anchor bolts with oversized washers per the structural schedule. A two-inch grout hole is provided to match the anchor bolt hole diameter at the center of the plate web. Fillet welds connect the column flanges to the base plate, leaving the web k-region unwelded typically.
