A structural kicker brace connects beneath a concrete slab on metal deck supported by a wide flange beam. The connection utilizes an L 2 x 5 x 54-mil by 1'-2" long angle member centered on the work point. The angle is secured to the underside of the concrete slab using either two three-eighths-inch diameter by 3-1/4-inch embedment KH-EZ anchors or half-inch diameter by 3-inch embedment Titen HD anchors spaced at 12 inches on center. Alternatively, at the deck prior to or without concrete fill, four number 10 self-tapping metal screws are used at each end of the angle instead of concrete anchors. The diagonal kicker, with size and spacing specified per section, connects to the angle gusset with attachment details per section.
