A structural steel column receives a web doubler plate as required to reinforce the web against high shear forces from incoming framing. An incoming beam connects to the column flange using a typical C30 connection with three vertical bolts. A web doubler plate is welded to the column web inside the flange toes where local web reinforcement is specified.
