A hollow structural section column bears on a nine-inch by five-inch by one-half-inch embed plate set atop a concrete wall. The embed plate is anchored by two three-quarter-inch diameter welded studs with full penetration welds. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the hollow structural section column to the embed plate.
