A two-inch thick steel base plate with a yield strength of fifty kilopounds per square inch anchors the column to the foundation. Six anchor bolts secure the assembly, each equipped with a one-half by four by four-inch plate washer typical at all locations. A gusset plate is welded where applicable with a one-quarter inch fillet weld or AISC minimum size. The column size is determined per the column schedule and orientation is established per the structural plan.
