A steel column is welded to a 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 0-foot 6-inch steel base plate resting on a 1-inch non-shrink grout bed. The assembly bears directly on a concrete slab on grade. Four 1/2-inch diameter expansion anchor bolts with 5-inch embedment secure the base plate into the concrete slab.
