A roof subpurlin sits on a Simpson F-Series Z-Max galvanized roof hanger, secured with one-quarter-inch by two-inch lag screws or number fourteen by two-inch wood screws at twenty-four inches on center staggered for each angle of the top chord. A three-inch Douglas Fir wood nailer with two-and-a-half-inch net thickness is positioned at the top. An angle joist brace provided by the manufacturer is attached with four 10d nails at the top and anchored to the steel joist below.
