This structural connection utilizes an hollow structural section with standard vertical long slotted holes attached via machine bolts. The hollow structural section connects to four bays of two rows of four-by wood blocking using an L6x4x3/8 angle that is five feet six inches long with standard holes. Eight 3/8-inch by 4-inch lag screws secure the angle to the blocking, with two lag screws per block. Three-quarter-inch machine bolts are centered in the vertical long slotted holes of the hollow structural section to allow for movement.
