An hollow structural section separator beam at each floor connects adjacent to a concrete slab on metal deck supported by a structural steel beam. The connection utilizes an angle detailed in reference detail 5/S5.02 and a quarter-inch by one-foot three-inch bent plate centered on the hollow structural section separator. Three half-inch diameter by two-foot-zero-inch deformed bar anchors spaced at six inches on center are embedded in the concrete slab.
