A three-by wood nailer matches the beam flange width and is secured with seven-eighths-inch diameter welded threaded rods spaced at six inches on center staggered on the beam with a maximum three-quarter-inch countersink. Place one rod a maximum of nine inches from each end of the nailer and from each splice. Subpurlins and steel beams are sized per plan. Maximum five-inch diameter holes for pipes are located at ten feet on center where applicable, maintaining a pipe centerline between eight and fifteen inches below the sheathing. Boundary nailing is provided at the roof edge.
