A structural detail presents a buckling restrained brace base plate connection with both elevation and plan views. A steel column and a diagonal buckling restrained brace frame into a two-inch thick Grade 50 steel base plate anchored to a concrete foundation. The base plate is secured by twelve two-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor rods with three-quarter by five by five-inch plate washers at each anchor rod and hairpins installed in the foundation. A gusset plate connects the buckling restrained brace to the structure, with sizing and welding per the brace provider. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth inch typical size connect the structural steel elements.
