Cold-formed steel tracks are spliced end-to-end with a maximum one-quarter-inch joint gap centered on the splice line. An internal stud insert matching the size and gauge of the framing stud spans the joint inside the track. Three number ten screws are fastened through each flange of the track on each side of the splice.
