This structural plan detail shows a pipe sleeve penetrating a concrete beam reinforced with longitudinal bars and grade beam stirrups. Additional shear stirrups are placed on each side of the sleeve to compensate for the compromised concrete section. The maximum sleeve size is limited to 6 inches in diameter with a 1 inch gap maintained between the sleeve and the enclosed pipe. The beam width is divided into thirds to position the reinforcing elements correctly.
