A heavy structural steel gusset plate connection joins diagonal brace members and vertical members to a structural chord beam. The assembly incorporates web plates measuring three-eighths of an inch and flange plates measuring one-quarter by twenty-four inches on each side, welded with eleven-sixteenths and five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Diagonal members connect via bolted splice plates to the gusset plate welded directly to the chord beam flange. Working points and centerline dimensions establish precise geometry for the intersecting structural axes.
