An HSS column below connects to wide flange beams and intersecting HSS braces at a common work point. A three-eighths-inch plate is located twelve inches below the top of the wide flange beam, flanked by diagonal HSS braces. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch and five-sixteenth-inch sizes are specified as shop or field welded typically. Minimum clearances include three-inch and four-inch dimensions with a two-inch typical clearance. Gusset plates and connection plates tie the framing members together symmetrically around the column axis.
