A cold-formed steel wall stud connects to a structural steel beam and overhead floor or roof deck through a vertical deflection clip and drift track clip. The drift track clip fastens to the underside of the deck assembly above the steel beam. A slotted vertical deflection clip attaches the wall stud to the track, allowing independent vertical movement of the slab without transferring loads to the stud.
