The steel beam connects to the steel column with a complete-joint-penetration weld at the top and bottom flanges. One-half-inch-thick stiffener plates are provided on both sides of the column web at typical locations aligning with the beam flanges. A buckling-restrained brace connects via bolts to a gusset plate, with the gusset plate and bolts provided by others. A five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld is indicated at the connection assemblies.
