A hollow structural section hanger connects to an overhead beam sized per plan using a WT7x17 structural tee welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on both sides. Three-eighths-inch full-height stiffener plates are welded to the beam web aligned with the hanger assembly. A three-eighths-inch plate is welded at the bottom of the HSS hanger. A shear tab sized per schedule is welded to the HSS hanger and bolted to adjacent structural framing.
