A hollow structural section column receives intersecting diagonal brace members connected via gusset plates. The connection utilizes one-and-a-half-inch thick plates conforming to ASTM A1066 Grade 65. Plates are secured with through-bolts and welded connections as indicated by typical weld symbols. Additional members frame into the column flanges and webs to complete the lateral load resisting system node.
