Additional trim bars are placed around slab openings in metal deck slabs according to standard spacing rules. Small openings require specific dimensional clearances and reinforcing layouts relative to the framing below and the webs of the deck. Framed openings utilize C8x11.5 channel headers with maximum spans of 12'-0" and 6'-0" widths, where C8 channels may be omitted under specific dimension and continuity conditions. Section A-A indicates additional typical trim bars and notes the requirement for shoring if openings are cut prior to concrete placement.
