A 1 1/4-inch metal handrail is supported by handrail brackets attached to 1 1/2-inch diameter posts spaced at six feet zero inches maximum. The vertical posts extend two inches above the handrail to function as a skateboard deterrent. Handrails are mounted at thirty-four to thirty-eight inches maximum for stairs and thirty-four to thirty-six inches maximum for landings. Posts are anchored to the concrete structure in core-drilled holes filled with grout with an eight-inch minimum embedment.
