A wide-flange steel beam supports a concrete-filled metal deck with a minimum two-inch bearing and one inch of concrete over the deck. A three-eighths-inch stiffener plate is centered on the web aligned with the curtain wall connection, welded with quarter-inch fillets on three sides. Diaphragm chord bars and half-inch diameter deformed bar anchors match the slab reinforcement spacing and tie into the deck assembly. A curtain wall gravity connection by others ties into the exterior face of the assembly.
