A steel joist girder with a seven-and-a-half-inch bearing end rests on a three-quarter-inch steel girder bearing plate atop a steel column. A three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch steel cap plate secures the steel beams to the column assembly. One-half-inch stiffener plates are welded at each side of the girder bearing plate and below the girder. A metal roof deck spans across the framing with a complete joint penetration weld at the frame line configured to provide a slip condition.
