These connections join hollow structural section members to a supporting hollow structural section column or beam using structural steel angles and plate elements. The detail accommodates both members of different depths and members of the same depth. For members of different depths, support is provided by an angle size of L4x4x3/8 by zero-foot-six-inches for depths between four and six inches, or an angle size of L6x6x3/8 by zero-foot-six-inches for depths greater than or equal to six inches, welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. For members of the same depth, a three-eighths-inch plate with a six-inch leg is incorporated alongside matching angle profiles and quarter-inch fillet welds.
