A typical roof joist supports a concentrated load greater than 100 pounds via an additional diagonal web member. This reinforcement consists of an L2x2x3/16 inch minimum angle member installed adjacent to the existing web. The new diagonal member attaches to the top and bottom chords with a 3/16 inch fillet weld at each connection point. The load sits within a 6-inch offset from the joist panel point to ensure proper load distribution through the reinforced web configuration.
