Grouped openings less than six inches require no reinforcement when spacing is greater than four times the largest hole diameter. When spacing is less than four times the largest hole diameter, reinforcement is required per the single opening detail. Combined opening widths up to two feet maximum require specific single opening reinforcement, while larger configurations require framing per the typical large opening detail. Isolated openings under six inches do not require reinforcement.
