Steel deck is field-cut to clear the structural steel column, with sheet metal fillers, flashing, and closures installed as required and tack-welded in place. An L3x3x1/4 angle is welded to the column and beam to provide support for the steel deck ribs. Number 4 reinforcing bars, two feet long, are placed on each side of the column to reinforce the deck opening.
