This structural detail shows a steel column base assembly featuring a 2-1/2-inch Grade 50 base plate measuring 2 feet 6 inches by 7 feet 0 inches, secured by two-inch diameter anchor rods. Two-inch Grade 50 stiffener plates are welded to the base plate on both the inside and outside with half-inch fillet welds, applied to both sides of both flanges and the web. Gusset plates provided by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer are positioned on each side of the column and welded with half-inch fillet welds. Three-by-eight-inch drag plates are located on each side of the column base plate, referencing detail BP-3 for embed plates and additional drag plates.
